I will be heard - our ask

In October 2018, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse launched the ‘I will be heard’ awareness campaign across England and Wales, raising awareness of the Inquiry’s Truth Project.

In line with our national media campaign, we are keen to work with our stakeholders to ensure as wide a reach as possible to inform victims and survivors of child sexual abuse of the opportunities available to them through the Truth Project. We recognise the existing knowledge and understanding you hold as professionals working within your field and recognise the importance of working collaboratively to share messages as widely as possible across all sectors and communities.

Through our Stakeholder Engagement Toolkit we have provided stakeholders with a range of information, resources and ideas to support the ‘I will be heard’ campaign and to communicate messages to your stakeholders, partners, service users and colleagues about the Truth Project.

There are a whole host of ways in which you can actively support the ‘I will be heard’ campaign. The Inquiry is keen to raise awareness of the opportunity for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse to be heard by the Truth Project and contribute to the work of the Inquiry with as wide an audience as possible. We would be very grateful for your support of the ‘I will be heard’ campaign.

How can you support the campaign?

  • Distribute booklets or z-cards to victims and survivors and people you work with, raising awareness of the Truth Project and the current campaign and encouraging individuals to access the opportunity to share their experiences (either on a targeted basis or more generally throughout 2019).
