Inquiry announces publication date for Internet report

18 February 2020

The Inquiry is due to publish its report on the Internet investigation on Thursday 12 March.

The report is based on 14 days of public hearings held during January 2018 and May 2019.  These hearings considered the nature and extent of the use of the internet to facilitate child sexual abuse. This investigation examines the adequacy of the response from government, law enforcement and the internet industry across three main areas: the viewing of indecent images of children, the grooming of a child and the live streaming of child sexual abuse.

Witnesses in this wide-ranging investigation included victims and survivors of online child sexual abuse, charities, police, government officials, as well as industry representatives from international companies including Facebook, Google, Apple and Microsoft.

The full report and executive summary will be published on the Inquiry's website at midday.
