Two preliminary hearings to be held this week

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse will hold preliminary hearings in relation to two of its investigations this week.

Please note the hearings will be held in the Inquiry’s new hearing centre - 18 Pocock Street, London, SE1 0BW.

The full details of the hearings are:

Wednesday 4 October 2017, 10.30 am - further preliminary hearing in relation to the extent of any institutional failures to protect children from sexual abuse within the Anglican Church.

Thursday 5 October 2017, 10.30 am - further preliminary hearing in relation to the inquiry into the extent of any institutional failures to protect children from sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales.

The hearings will discuss the progress of the investigations and give directions.

Preliminary hearings are not broadcast, but they are open to the press and public and live tweeting (subject to a five minute delay) is allowed. A transcript of the hearings will be available on our website a few hours later. Seats are allocated on a first come first served basis.
