The Truth Project is holding sessions for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse in Cornwall this November.  The Truth Project was set up to give victims and survivors of child sexual abuse the opportunity to share their experiences in a supportive and confidential setting.

Inquiry seminar: Mandatory Reporting - existing obligations to report child sexual abuse

19 September 2018

On Thursday 27 September, the Inquiry will be hosting an all day seminar on mandatory reporting which will examine existing obligations to report child sexual abuse.

The seminar will be held at the Inquiry hearing centre - 18 Pocock Street, London, SE1 0BW.

Inquiry to hold preliminary hearings in two investigations

Preliminary hearings in relation to two investigations will be held on Tuesday 25 September  at the Inquiry’s hearing centre at 18 Pocock Street, London, SE1 0BW.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has today (9 August) published its report into the Ampleforth and Downside hearings, as part of its investigation into the Roman Catholic Church.

Inquiry publishes financial report

We have today published our financial report for Quarter 1 2018/19 which sets out the annual position of expenditure for the 2018-19 financial year up to 30 June 2018, with a further breakdown of costs in relation to staffing and expenses. 

Details about the remuneration package including salary for Inquiry Chair Alexis Jay and the other Panel members are included in the report.

Inquiry announces further seminar on mandatory reporting

2 August 2018

Further to the seminar on mandatory reporting on 27 September, the Inquiry is today announcing that it will hold a second seminar in April 2019. The first seminar will look at existing obligations to report child sexual abuse in England and Wales, and at the experiences of other countries where mandatory reporting legislation exists.

Inquiry quarterly statistics

30 July 2018

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has today published statistics which provide an update on the Inquiry’s three core projects - the Truth Project, investigations and public hearings and research.

The statistics will be published quarterly and are accurate to 30 June 2018.

They include over 6,000 expressions of interest, and over 1,400 accounts received to the Truth Project.
