Over the past few years we've hosted a number of events and given Forum members opportunities to share their experiences and contribute to the Inquiry's research and ongoing work. The views and opinions which we hear from Forum members are reported on, published and shared with our Chair and Panel.

Online events and engagement

Child sexual abuse in residential care

The Inquiry’s Research team hosted a live-streamed event to discuss the findings of the recent Truth Analysis publication into child sexual abuse in the context of children's homes and residential care. Watch the recorded video

Learning about online sexual harm

The Inquiry recently carried out research on children and young people’s views on being online. In an event live-streamed for members of the Forum, Laura Pope, Principal Researcher at the Inquiry and Dr Helen Beckett from the University of Bedfordshire shared some of the key research findings. Watch the recorded video

Support services

The Inquiry has published new research exploring the challenges faced by victims and survivors in accessing statutory, private and voluntary sector support services.

On 12 June 2019, the Inquiry’s Research team hosted a live-streamed event for members of the Forum to discuss The Truth Project data analysis of child sexual abuse in the context of religious institutions.

Child sexual abuse in the youth secure estate

On 17 April 2019, the Inquiry held a live-streamed event for Forum members to discuss Child Sexual Abuse in the Youth Secure Estate. Please see the Q&A document which includes the questions raised by Forum members during the event, as well as the presentation slides used on the day.

Following discussions with members of the Victims and Survivors’ Forum, summary reports have been published on topics including accessing records, protected characteristics and the criminal justice system, to share what we have heard and to demonstrate the impacts of child sexual abuse.
