The Inquiry’s Accountability and Reparations investigation examined the extent to which the civil justice system, criminal compensation and support services promoted accountability and reparations to victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. Its September 2019 report made a number of recommendations about changes to the civil and criminal justice systems.[1] In this investigation, we considered the management of civil claims against the Church of England specifically, including against those who have died.
