The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse has now concluded and therefore all enquiries are being redirected to the Home Office as the department that was responsible for the sponsorship of the Inquiry during the course of its operations. The Home Office also has policy responsibility for co-ordinating the cross-government approach to tackling child sexual abuse.
However, the Home Office does not separately hold any information or evidence provided to the Inquiry or information about its protocols, ways of working or how decisions were made. This is due to the independence of the Inquiry from Government.
Information and records held by the Inquiry were transferred to the National Archives at the Inquiry’s conclusion. This has not included information about identifiable victims and survivors participating in the Truth Project. This is in line with the commitments made by the Chair of the Inquiry at the time.
If you have further queries about the documents or information the National Archives may hold, please contact the National Archives directly www.nationalarchives.gov.uk.
If you have separate queries relating to the government’s response to tackling child sexual abuse, you can contact the Home Office via:
