This thematic report is based on 16 days of public hearings held during March, May and August last year. This was the first UK Inquiry public hearing adapted to a virtual setting, to ensure the investigation could continue safely during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Child Protection in Religious Organisations and Settings investigation examined child protection policies and safeguarding cultures in religious organisations in England and Wales. These included Jehovah’s Witnesses, Baptists, Methodists, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism and non-conformist Christian denominations.
Witnesses in this investigation included complainants, victims and survivors, religious organisations, local authorities, charities, central government and third sector bodies who provide training and support in this field.
The full report and executive summary will be published on the Inquiry's website at midday.
