Inquiry announces Sutton review

Mark Sutton QC will be reviewing safeguarding and dignity at work procedures at the Inquiry.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) has today appointed Mark Sutton QC to conduct a review into the safeguarding and dignity at work procedures at the Inquiry.  

Chair Professor Alexis Jay said: “Last November, following publication of the Home Affairs Select Committee's report on the Inquiry,  I said that I would invite a senior legal figure to conduct a review into some of the issues raised by the Committee.  I have invited Mr Mark Sutton QC to lead that work.  He will report to the Inquiry on completion and he has also been asked to prepare a statement which we will publish." 

Mark Sutton QC  is a recognised practitioner in employment law, head of his chambers and an employment judge.
