Inquiry collaborates with professional boxer to encourage survivors to come forward

11 June 2020

Boxer Callum Hancock is working with the Inquiry’s Truth Project to encourage victims and survivors to share their experiences.

A survivor of child sexual abuse, Callum will take part in an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session, answering questions about his experiences, his journey to recovery and his work with survivor organisations such as Survivors Manchester and The Offside Trust to help make sport safer for children.

The collaboration is in the run-up to the publication of the Inquiry’s latest research report due to be released next week, which will focus on sports settings. Based on accounts shared with the Truth Project, the thematic report will shine a light on the experiences of victims and survivors abused in sport, as well as their suggestions for change.

Callum will join the Inquiry on Thursday 18 June, where he’ll be answering questions about his experiences via our social media channels. You can find out more about how to ask Callum a question by visiting the Inquiry’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, or by emailing contact@iicsa.org.uk and quoting 'Callum Hancock AMA'.
