Research into child sexual abuse in schools contexts sought to:

• Present experiences of victims and survivors of child sexual abuse in the context of schools and the institutional responses.

• Review of literature to draw together what is known about child sexual abuse in residential schools, focusing on scale/incidence and nature of csa and safeguarding.

• Explore how child sexual abuse and safeguarding practices in residential schools in England and Wales are understood from the perspective of school staff, children, parents and local authority staff.
