Summary

Conviction alongside others 

Research into perpetrators of child sexual abuse convicted alongside others, sought to:

  • Conduct primary research with perpetrators who have offended within the last decade, to investigate perpetrator networks and who operates within them, and exploring interventions to prevent or disrupt child sexual abuse offences. 

  • Commission TONIC to undertake this research to understand the motivations of perpetrators.

Behaviours and characteristics of perpetrators

Research into the characteristics and behaviours of perpetrators of online child sexual abuse sought to:

  • Commission National Centre for Social Research to review the evidence exploring how perpetrators use technology to offend, the emerging types of offences and information of children who perpetrate online as well.
