IICSA Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse

The Report of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse

Final report

G.1: Introduction

1. Nearly all Truth Project participants (94 percent) reported that child sexual abuse had a negative impact on them (Figure G.1).[1] Some victims and survivors said that it shaped their whole life:

Words do not do justice to the scale of the impact … It has affected and continues to affect every aspect of my being, body, mind and soul. I was so young that I will never know who I could have been had it never happened.[2]
